Celebrating their 22nd concert season and the eleventh under the direction of Jonathan Kreamer, the premier Chester County ensemble will present an enthralling winter selection of sacred and secular songs!

Tel Hai Hosts Educational Lecture: A Pearl Harbor Retrospective- Dec. 7, 1:00 PM

PH 2015Tel Hai Retirement Community’s Life Enrichment Committee invites the public to attend an educational lecture titled ‘A Pearl Harbor Retrospective’ on Monday, December 7, 2015 at 1:00 PM in the StoneCroft Center for Worship & Performing Arts on the campus of Tel Hai. This event is free and open to the public.

The lecture is provided by Ross Kershey, former Coatesville Area Senior High School history teacher and local historian. Join us as we learn more about this impactful 1941 attack and the sacrifice of our Veterans.

Tel Hai Retirement Community invites the public to a Tel Hai Concert Series presentation called “The Joy of Piano Duets- Four Hands, One Piano” with pianists Jeffrey Uhlig and Yu Xi Wang on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 7:30 PM in the community’s StoneCroft Center for Worship & Performing Arts, located at 4000 Tree Line Drive in Honey Brook. This exciting and enthralling musical journey includes musical numbers from Mozart, Debussy, Schumann, Poulenc, and Beethoven.

Jeffrey Uhlig has appeared as collaborative pianist throughout America and also has performed in Russia. Notable performances include The Phillips Collection in Washington, DC and at the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York. Uhlig plays regularly with many members of The Philadelphia Orchestra including Concert Master David Kim, Principal Cellist, Hai-Ye Ni and Principal Trombonist, Nitzan Haroz.

Pianist Yu Xi Wang made her Carnegie Hall debut in 2002 as the winner of the Artist International Competition, and subsequently released her debut CD in China under JSCP. As an avid soloist and chamber musician, Yu Xi has performed in venues such as New York’s Alice Tully Hall, Jay Sharp Theatre of Lincoln Center, Beijing’s Forbidden City Concert Hall, Rock Hall Auditorium at Temple University, Zoellner Arts Center at Lehigh University, and Gore Recital Hall at the University of Delaware. A native of Beijing, China, Yu Xi began playing the piano at the age of three and later studied at the Central Conservatory of Music. After moving to the United States, she studied at The Juilliard School under the tutelages of Herbert Stessin, Jerome Lowenthal, and Julian Martin, obtaining her bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees in piano performance.

The presentation will include information regarding legal documentation & estate planning, introduction to Medicare/ Medicaid provisions, resource assessment and the danger of divesting resources. Panagopoulos serves clients as part of the Estate, Trust Planning, Administration, and Elder Law Departments at Brubaker Connaughton Goss & Lucarelli LLC.

Panagopoulos received her bachelor of arts from Franklin &
Marshall College and her juris doctorate from Villanova
University. She served two cherkships with the Honorable
Michael Georgelis and the Honorable James Cullen, both in the
Lancaster County Court of Common Pleas. She is an active member in the American Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Lancaster Bar Association and the Lancaster Law Review as Editor.

‘From Christ to Constantine’- A Tel Hai Life Enrichment Committee Class: Beginning Oct. 5

OLLIThe Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) of Widener University will offer a five-session course at Tel Hai exploring ‘From Christ to Constantine’ with Rich Calla.

The course will begin on Monday, October 5 at 1:00pm in the StoneCroft Center for Worship & Performing Arts on Tel Hai’s campus and continue on October 12, 19, 26 and conclude on November 2, 2015. Inspirational Book Talk & Signing with Gayle Roper: Oct. 1, 2015

GayleRoper10.1.2015Tel Hai’s Office of Pastoral Care presents an ‘Inspirational Book Talk & Signing with Gayle Roper’ on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at 7:00 PM in the StoneCroft Center for Worship & Performing Arts.

Gayle Roper, a Chester County resident and an award winning author of more than 50 books, will speak on the topic of her recent book, A Widow’s Journey: Reflections on Walking Alone. Released in February 2015, A Widow’s Journey is a book of reflections about faith in the God of all comfort while experiencing the grief of the death of her beloved husband.

Gayle’s talk will be inspirational and practical. Her target audience is not only widows, but family and friends of widows but all persons who are in a marriage relationship. Her reflections will include advice on preparing to be successful after the death of a spouse. Following her talk, Gayle will be available to autograph A Widow’s Journey and several of her recently released novels.

Jeffrey Uhlig & The Three Tenors: A Tel Hai Concert Series Event- Sept. 26, 2015

Dominick Chenes, tenor, originally from Las Vegas, NV is a student of Mr. Bill Schuman at the Academy of Vocal Arts, in Philadelphia, PA. Dominick completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Music-Vocal Performance from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2007, and his Master’s Degree in Music-Vocal Performance also from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2012. Dominick won second prize in the Gerda Lissner Foundation competition in March 2013, as well as a grant award from the Licia Albanese-Puccini Foundation competition in April 2013.

Mackenzie Whitney is a native of Janesville, Iowa. He received his Bachelor’s of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Northern Iowa. While studying there, he performed the roles of Alfred in Die Fledermaus, Tamino in The Magic Flute, and Alcino in Prima Donna. Mackenzie participated in the Emerging Artists program at Opera New Jersey and covered the role of the Magician in Menotti’s The Consul.

Galeano Salas is a Texas native who grew up in Mexico City. He holds a MM from Yale University and a BM from the University of Houston. He is currently pursuing an Artist Diploma at Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia. Galeano most recently sang the roles of Alfredo in La traviata and German in Pique Dame. Recent performances include covering Stage Manager in Ned Rorem’s Our Town as a member of Central City Opera’s Bonfils-Stanton Apprentice Artist program. Also, Vaudémont in Iolanta and Tebaldo in I Capuleti e I Montecchi at the historic Shubert Theater with Yale Opera.
